Mahi-Mahi caught with Get Busy Fishing Charters

Mahi-mahi—also called dolphin or dorado—are one of South Florida's favorite offshore gamefish. They fight hard, travel in schools, look incredible in the water and are excellent table fare. From Boynton Beach, mahi trips may involve trolling, looking for birds and floating structure, or running farther offshore when conditions call for it.

When is mahi fishing best?

Mahi can show up throughout the year off South Florida, with opportunities changing with current, wind, bait and seasonal movements. Rather than promising a fixed month, we plan around recent conditions and where clean Gulf Stream water and life are setting up.

How we target mahi

Depending on the day, the program can include trolling, pitching baits to fish around floating debris, working weed lines, or covering water until we find birds and feeding activity.

How long should I book?

A 6- or 8-hour trip gives more flexibility when mahi are offshore because it leaves time to cover water. A 4-hour trip can still be productive when fish are closer or when the reef bite gives us other options.

Book a mahi-mahi trip

Tell Captain Kevin your preferred date, group size and whether mahi-mahi is the main goal or part of a mixed-bag offshore trip. Conditions change, so direct trip planning is the best way to choose the right duration.
