Sailfish are one of the signature gamefish of the Palm Beach County coast. Boynton Beach gives anglers quick access to deep blue water, and when wind, current and bait line up, sailfish can move through the same water we fish for kings, tuna and other pelagics.
Kite fishing for sailfish
Kite fishing lets us suspend live baits at the surface while keeping heavy terminal tackle and line out of the water. It is a specialized South Florida technique and one of the most exciting ways to see a sailfish eat.
When do we target them?
Cooler-season fronts often create classic sailfish conditions, but fish can be encountered outside the peak winter pattern. We watch water color, current, bait and recent catches.
What else can bite?
The same spread can produce blackfin tuna, kingfish, mahi, wahoo and other pelagic species, which is part of what makes live-bait fishing off Boynton so productive.
Book a sailfish trip
Tell Captain Kevin your preferred date, group size and whether sailfish is the main goal or part of a mixed-bag offshore trip. Conditions change, so direct trip planning is the best way to choose the right duration.
